Effectiveness model of the process system of a compound feed mill as a hierarchical structure

A compound feed mill is a complex system since it includes a large number of production machines. When choosing a certain set of equipment, it is often challenging to determine which set of equipment will be the most efficient. Therefore, the research goal is to develop a mathematical model that enables to determine the relative index of effectiveness. The expert evaluation method taking into account the level system proposed by G.G. Malinetskiy may be used as a solution to the problem. The essence of the expert evaluation method is a rational organization of problem analysis by experts along with quantitative evaluation of the judgments and processing of the results. To properly evaluate a compound feed mill, it should be presented as a hierarchical structure, and criterion dimensions should be reduced, i.e. one should proceed from a large number of initial criteria to a significantly smaller number. In terms of a hierarchical structure, a compound feed mill will represent several levels of a fan-shaped structure. The mainstream should be identified in this structure, i.e. the one associated with the final stages of compound feed mixture production (e.g. mixing and finished mix output). Based on the experience and reference documents, an expert assigns indicator values to each production line including the mainstream. Then the index of effectiveness is calculated by using the mathematical model of maximization which was obtained through theoretical substantiation. The process flow scheme that has a greater indicator is more efficient. The method of expert evaluation of process flow schemes of compound feed mills makes it possible to evaluate individual production lines, and then by using the mathematical model of maximizing the relative index of effectiveness to determine the value of this index for the entire mill. The index of effectiveness increases steadily as the values of the index at each line increase, and reaches the maximum at unit value.
