The article is devoted to the bachelors training in the subject of physics in a technical university. The modular competency training is proposed as an effective methodology that will enable students to raise their independence, activity, initiative, to form general and fundamental professional competencies in the subject. The article describes the technology for creating modular programs based on competency model. The model of teaching physics process has been presented on the modular competency basis, including the structure of lectures, practical classes, laboratory and workshop organization of independent work.
