The article explains the pressing issue of the modern educational process - finding a balance between technological trends and traditions. Axiomatic and descriptive methods were applied to analyze literary sources. The author asserts that increasing the effectiveness of the modern educational process is possible based on the use of the principles of complementarity and integration when implementing constantly evolving e-learning technologies. It is proposed to recognize the integrative approach as the methodological basis for solving this problem, which guides towards the "peaceful coexistence" of modern effective technologies and traditional effective technologies. The mechanism for assessing the integration of educational technologies is considered the SAMR model developed by R. Puentedura. The levels of technology integration are analyzed: substitution, augmentation, modification, and redefinition. Criteria for the effectiveness of technology integration are discussed: engagement, enhancement, extension. The potential of integrating educational technologies regarding flexibility, variability, interactivity, and accessibility of the educational process is analyzed.
