Model accounting system (register) for chronic pain in oncology

The authors propose a model of accounting (register) of chronic pain in an oncological clinic. It is noted that currently used electronic medical document management systems can significantly simplify the system of registration and collection of specialized information. The main condition is the presence in the electronic medical record of a separate button "Pain", and a mandatory program request for entering information. A total of 4 mandatory questions are proposed to be introduced: the presence of Pain, intensity, the presence of a neuropathic component and the efficiency of sedation (in %). At confirmation of Pain, the program offers the corresponding variants of analgesics. Subsequently, all the information is entered into the Register and is available for systematization and analysis. The authors conclude that this approach will allow to obtain systematic information about the epidemiology of chronic pain, to conduct a deeper analysis of painkillers, the validity of the appointment of appropriate classes of analgesics, the effectiveness of pain control, as well as the main treatment errors.
