In the article the essence of the concept «tutor» is disclosed, main historical stages of tutors in Great Britain and Russia is described. Effective experience of approbation of tutor maintenance at the system of improvement of professional skill is presented, levels and ways of social and history teachers and tutors interaction is extracted.
