Modernization in the context of civilization development: social and philosophical aspect

The subject of modernization development in the process of civilization evolution is analyzed in this article. The attention is focused on informational stage of civilization modernization and its inconsistencies in the process of modern globalization. Special attention is paid to North American line of Occidental civilization and its confrontation to the interests of fundamental civilization values. It should be noted that the ideas of humanism-oriented strategy of movement towards new stage of modernization development (humanistic civilization) are well justified. The possibility of Russia to take the leading role in realization of this strategy is well proved due to the wealth of its moral and spiritual values, mental features of its national character, special features of its patriotism as a part of people’s self-comprehension, and its national self-identification.
