The paper reveals variations of the structural pattern “who / what shows itself as” formed by the verbs denoting color. The main attention in the article is paid to identifying the manifestations of the grammatical meaning of aspectuality in the verbs denoting color development. The paper focuses on the study of the correlation between the categories of grammatical tense and actual time. The author has shown productivity of the past tense variety, low productivity of the present forms and non-productivity of the future tense.
