Dairy efficiency and genetic potential of Ayrshire cattle in the Republic of Mari El

Studying of dairy efficiency and genetic potential of ayrshirsky cattle in JSC Mariyskoye of the Republic of Mari El showed that cows possess the high level of dairy efficiency and have high genetic potential. For fuller assessment of potential opportunities of animals on all indicators of female ancestors we calculated the parental index of cows showing genetic opportunities of an animal and extent of possible transfer to posterity of productive qualities. As showed researches, the parental index of cows was high on all studied indicators. Population of ayrshirsky cattle in JSC Mariyskoye differed in rather high coefficients of heritability of the studied signs of dairy efficiency. Realization of the genetic potential of animals reached in herd I was high on a mass fraction of fat and protein, average - on a yield of milk, amount of milk fat and protein.
