Theme of violence in Zakhar Prilepin’s prose

The article is dedicated to the study of works of contemporary Russian writer, publicist and public person Zakhar Prilepin. We studied a significant part of his works’ poetics in particular – motive of physical and psychological violence in books «Sankya», «Chernaya Obezyana» and «Vosmyorka». Topicality of the article is based on the importance of this theme in the writer’s works in particular and his significance as a part of contemporary Russian literature process in general. Also, it is relates to the core problem of the study: there are few works dedicated to analysis of motive and plot features of the writer’s works. Features of Zakhar Prilepin’s texts are mostly considered as a part of general problems related to means of expression. Meanwhile violence as phenomenon of Zakhar Prilepin’s prose and so called «new realism» as a literature school the writer belongs to is definitely important. It affects plot as a form of representation of protagonist’s and author’s himself and has many variations depending on a certain text. Also, this motive is remarkable as implementation of typical for Russian literature theme of «petite person» – ordinary, mostly inert person, which is non-typical as a protagonist of Zakhar Prilepin’s works.
