Motivational sphere of students of chemical-pharmaceutical university as a marker of personal and professional development

Based on the results of a sociological study and interviews conducted among students of the Saint Petersburg State Chemical and Pharmaceutical University, the structure of students’ academic motivation is analyzed, and factors influencing its formation are identified. The dynamics of motivational priorities in the academic activity of 1st and 3rd year students is determined. The content of professional motives in the structure of their academic activity and the features of professional motivation of students of the Russian chemical and pharmaceutical university are considered. The authors trace the influence of the specifics of such a university on the motivational priorities of students and establish a correlation between students’ attitudes toward academic activity in their chosen specialty and the prominence of the profession’s image in the minds of future specialists.
