Motifs of disgust in contemporary art as a signal of distress and an outgoing threat

The article offers an analysis of the motives of disgust in contemporary art. The approach present ed in the work and the author’s interpretation of the given conceptual foundations make it possible to update the process of transformation of the way of thinking in terms of value systems, procedures for processing information and communication. The need for research is due to ambiguous assessments of the perspective, in the direction of which there is a search for artistic form and visual expression, that is, through images of violence, the aestheticization of the disgusting and the transformation of the figure of the repulsive into the attractive. The figure of the disgusting, on the one hand, represents a distress signal about the state of culture, about the decline of value guidelines, on the other hand, he himself represents a threat.
