Museum as an educational resource: an analysis of the development of the educational space from the enlightenment to the contemporary era

The museum acted as an educational resource since ancient times. The modern system of higher education is in search of active teaching methods and can use the achievements of the 18th century, in which the educational activity of museums was included in the public life, and museum pedagogy was further developed. This article analyzes the stages of development of the educational environment of museums from the Enlightenment to the present day in order to justify the possibility and feasibility of introducing the potential of cultural and educational space of the museum in the pedagogical process of the higher education system as an additional resource. Cultural and educational space of the museum has a pedagogical orientation, the ability to influence the formation of cultural and professional student's potential. The author of the article analyzes the historical study of the museum in the world culture T.U. Yureneva [7] on the basis of the components of the educational environment identified by V.A. Yasvin [9, p. 6]. The data obtained the high pedagogical essence of the museum and the relevance of the use of the museum as one of the additional resources of the higher education system in the modern world.
