Masculinity and feminity in M. Puig’s novels

The article examines the masculine/feminine dichotomy in the work of the Argentine writer M. Puig. The purpose is to determine how the opposition of Anima and Animus is used in the novels to reveal the characters and its role in internal and external conflicts. It was found that the acceptance or denial of Anima / Animus significantly affects heros’ ability to accept and understand themselves and their relationships with others and the world around them. It is concluded that only the acceptance of Anima and Animus allows the heroes to achieve internal harmony.
