Music in e-learning courses of English language at non-linguistic universities

The article is written within the framework of the extended scientific research devoted to the music-semeiotic concept of developing students’ creative learning of foreign languages. The concept implies experimental study of psychological impact of music on the efficiency of the learning processes, on the development of general and specific abilities of students, in particular creative abilities to learn foreign languages. Solution of this task is based on the hypothesis of psychological integrity and interaction of musical and foreign language learning skills, which was confirmed by the researches of Professor Ryzhov scientific school. Experimental verification of the concept supposes organization of experimental teaching of foreign languages using the diversity of music. The aim of the article is to study the impact of music on students’ learning processes. The article suggests the original e-learning course “The Beatles Epoch in the UK Culture” on Moodle platform; the course is designed basically for self-study. The course provides the opportunity to check the self-studied material in class, enhancing additionally the acquired knowledge and making more efficient the English language learning process.
