The article substantiates the relevance of studying the fate of early 20th century Russian Orthodox monarchists in emigration after the 1917 revolution and the Civil War. It is noted that the analysis of the activities of the right abroad reveals the evolution of their attitude to Orthodoxy and other religions, the monarchy, the Soviet government, the liberal West etc. The path of a prominent public and Church figure, chairman (after separation, since 1912) of the largest pre-revolutionary rightwing political party “The Union of Russian People”, member of the State Duma, publicist and writer N. E. Markov is considered in detail. His active participation in both political emigrant events and associations (the Reichengall Congress, the “Supreme Monarchical Council”, etc.) and in Church ones (the First and Second All-Diaspora Councils of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad) is reflected. It is shown that, despite the complexity and inconsistency of his emigrant life, Markov never betrayed his monarchical beliefs and tried in every way to consolidate the scattered right-wing organizations of the Russian Abroad.
