The article is devoted to explaining the parallels in the teachings of N. Ya. Danilevsky and Russian Eurasians of the 1920s. The author believes that these parallels are not accidental. There are overlaps between the eras in which these teachings were created. On N. Ya. Danilevsky was influenced by the Crimean War and the unification of the powers of the West against Russia, which could not be explained by anything other than irrational Russophobia. The Eurasianists were disappointed with the position of the Western states during the civil war in Russia. The Entente treated the Whites not as allies, but as a semi-colony. From this, both Danilevsky and the Eurasianists concluded that the West does not perceive Russia as part of Europe and sees it as a separate civilization. On the other hand, both the era of the 1870s-1890s and the era of the 1910s-1920s are periods in the history of Russian thought, when in Russian society the passion for materialism and revolutionary ideas was replaced by an interest in religion and idealism. Both Danilevsky’s theory and the theory of the Eurasians are vivid examples of such an ideological turn.
