National specific terms of politeness in the Adyghe languages

The article describes the national-specific terms of politeness in the Adyghe languages, formed by the suffixed element “-пкIэ” with a meaning of “price”, “value” or “gift for something” as a token of apology or expression of politeness towards the respected person. The author analyzes each term in close connection with traditional customs and culture of Adyghe people, explains the features of the use of these lexical units. It is emphasized that the unifying principle is underlying the politeness as part of the etiquette of the Adyghe people, serving for the soulful convergence of people, aimed at mitigating their relationship.
