National peculiarities of physical education teaching in the Republic of Korea

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the approach to education in the field of physical culture in the Republic of Korea. The focus is on the place of physical education in the education system (preschool, school, high school). The general characteristics of the curriculum content are given. The distinctive features of the physical education methodology are highlighted - a combination of a standard approach (European, American) and reliance on national sports (various types of martial arts, kiting, archery). It is shown which techniques and exercises characteristic of these national sports are used in physical education lessons. It is concluded that such an approach can also be used by other countries (in particular Russia) in order to popularize specific types of sports activity and preserve national diversity.
