National project "Tourism and hospitality": solving the staffing problems of the industry - the experience of RSUTS

The article is devoted to the review and analysis of the experience of some events by Russian State University of Tourism and Service within the framework of the National Project «Tourism and Hospitality». This is the experience of educational intensive courses for students of Russian universities studying in the fields of tourism and hospitality, in order to promote their occupation and employment in the Federal subjects of Russia, implementing activities within the framework of the National Project. To solve this problem, in November-December 2021, within the framework of a large project of the Development Center for the human resources in tourism of Russian State University of Tourism and Service «Organization of events in the field of youth policy aimed at forming the system of talented and initiative youth’s development, creation of conditions for adolescents and youth’s self-realization, development of adolescents and youth’s creative, professional, intellectual potential» the university designed and conducted three specialized educational intensive courses (18 academic hours for each). One thousand six hundred and sixteen students from sixty Russian universities, two professional educational organizations from sixty-three regions of the Russian Federation and one foreign university took part in the intensive courses. The main purpose of the educational intensive courses was the professional orientation of young people interested in competence-based self-realization in priority types of tourism and tourist macro-territories, and the formation of human resources to achieve the targets of the National Project in priority tourist territories, clusters and complexes. The high ratings of both listeners and speakers of the events confirmed the effectiveness and usefulness of the educational intensive courses.
