We assessed value of abnormal exercise renogram in patients with essential hypertension and coronary atherosclerosis. Thirty six patients with documented stenoses of coronary arteries and fourteen patients with unaffected coronary arteries were investigated by exercise renal scintigraphy with 99mTc-mercaptoacetyl triglycine(MAG3). Thirty of 36 (83,3%) hypertensive patients with coronary atherosclerosis developed abnormal exercise renogram, six patients had normal exercise renogram. Three of 14 patients with intact coronary arteries developed slight degree of abnormal exercise renogram. Correlation analysis allowed to identify positive relationship between abnormal exercise renogram and coronary atherosclerosis (Spirmen's correlation coefficients = 0,64; P
