In the article, based on the analysis of the results of an experimental study of the state of the functional basis of reading skills in older preschool children with general speech underdevelopment, the main directions of propaedeutics of reading are determined. Examples of tasks and exercises included in the workbook on propaedeutics of reading are given. Purposefully and systematically carried out correctional and developmental work with older preschoolers with ONR in terms of teaching their initial reading skills, taking into account the state of the functional basis, which, in turn, will contribute to improving the effectiveness of speech therapy work.
