Focus of innovation activity in the general education system (based on the content analysis results of the federal innovation platforms themes)

The aim of the paper is to examine the orientation of innovation activity in the secondary general education system. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the focus of such innovation activities in the Russian general secondary education system, as reflected in the themes of Federal Innovation Platforms (FIP). A content analysis of FIP topics focused on secondary education development served as a valid method of achieving this objective. The survey sample consists of 100 FIPs located in 8 federal districts and 31 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The analysis identifies eight groups of innovative educational activities focus, characterizes the distribution of FIP topics among the groups, identifies general trends of innovative processes in the secondary general education system, and indicates the specifics of innovative activities in the aforementioned area by districts. The research findings can be used in the innovation governance process of the General Education system.
