Folk crafts of the Republic of Dagestan as objects for domestic tourism development

The article addresses the pressing issue of preserving the folk crafts of Dagestan, which are currently on the brink of extinction. The aim of this study is to identify the preserved artifacts of decorative and applied art that can be actively used in the development of tourism. To achieve this, the article employs various methodologies, including descriptive analysis, statistical analysis, and prospective assessment. The conducted research revealed that the development of tourism can lead to the destruction of the spiritual heritage of our ancestors, since craftsmen in the production of decorative and applied arts began to focus on the needs of tourists. The author examines the peculiarities of the influence of geographical conditions on the development of a particular type of folk crafts. Additionally, the article elucidates the distinctive features inherent to each craft, as well as the impact of local traditions and beliefs on the patterns employed by artisans. Furthermore, the study presents an analysis of the dynamics of tourist flows, highlighting the growth of travel enterprises and the increasing sales of arts and crafts.
