The article examines mentoring as an important element of personnel policy of enterprises, helping to solve a number of organizational problems, including adaptation and training of new employees, reducing of turnover, professional development of employees, etc. The content of mentors' functions, their professional and personal qualities are discussed. The author considers the problems hindering implementation of the mentoring institution in Russian enterprises.
