High School Student Mentorship as a Means of Fostering Learning Motivation in Elementary School Students

The article addresses the current issue of developing learning motivation in elementary school students. The authors argue that traditional forms and methods of teaching and upbringing do not adequately address this challenge. The article high-lights mentorship as an approach with historical roots in education, provides a con-ceptual analysis of the term, and defines its place in the educational process. An ex-perimental study of high school student mentorship, carried out through the implementation of the “Helpik” project, allowed the authors to design the next stage of the work — the “Vdokhnoviteli” pro-ject. The article presents the project’s technological framework, aimed at preparing high school students for the role of mentors and creating an environment that fosters younger students’ cognitive interest through trust-based and informal interaction.
