"To teach students to speak, read and write Chinese": notes of Apollinary V. Rudakov and Petr P. Schmidt, professors of the Oriental Institute (1915)

The article is devoted to an episode in the history of the development of Sinology in the Russian Far East at the beginning of the XX century. The authors analyze two papers produced by the Chinese language professors of the Oriental Institute in Vladivostok - Apollinary V. Rudakov and Petr P. Schmidt. These archival documents allow us to learn about the methodology and effectiveness of teaching Chinese at the Oriental Institute and Russian Commercial School in Harbin.
