The article deals with the history of creation, the basic stages and methodology of school of thought. The school of thought was founded in 1985 and based on the department of aesthetics, theory and history of culture (beginning with 1993 – cultural studies), nowadays it is renamed into the faculty of cultural studies, ethnoculture and theatrical art of the Mordovian state university.
