Современные глобальные вызовы в полной мере затрагивают лесное хозяйство - отрасль, обеспечивающую существование и использование лесных экосистем. Лесной сектор экономики страны нуждается в адаптации к глобализации рынков, развитию технологий, появлению новых видов древесной продукции, усилению конкуренции и ужесточению экологических требований. В статье рассмотрены тенденции в научно-технологическом развитии лесного хозяйства в зарубежных странах, приведены действующие и планируемые программы исследований новых лесных технологий. Статья предназначена для исследователей и практиков лесного хозяйства, направлена на повышение конкурентоспособности и устойчивости российского лесного сектора.
