Oil and gas potential of structures complicated by salt tectonics

The mechanism of the formation of salt dislocations and the manifestation of salt diapirism has not yet been clarified, but one thing is certain: the initiating beginning of the withdrawal of salt from the equilibrium formation state is the periodic activation of tectonic activity in the region, expressed in vertical movements of the basement blocks. Calculations of the optimal conditions for the implementation of this mechanism have shown that even at relatively shallow depths in some parts of the section, very high pressures can arise, capable of ensuring the flow of not only salt, but also clays and limestones.
