Neurodegeneration in multiple sclerosis and methods for its correction

The article is devoted to the study of the mechanism of action of glatiramer acetate from the point of view of its effect on membrane-destabilizing processes in multiple sclerosis. During a two-year follow-up of 69 patients with remitting multiple sclerosis, the beneficial effect of the drug was demonstrated in the form of a decrease in the frequency of exacerbations and a slowdown in the progression of the disease, which correlated with the severity of membrane-destabilizing processes.
