The article is devoted to the philosophical analysis of two fundamental models of time – cyclic and linear. The author explores the historical and cultural origins of each of them: cyclical time, characteristic of agrarian societies and ancient philosophy, and linear time, which arose in the Abrahamic religions as the history of salvation. The process of secularization of linear time in the age of Enlightenment, which reached its apotheosis in Hegel ’s philosophy, is considered in detail, where history appears as a dialectical progress of reason and freedom. The key thesis of the article is a critique of the Enlightenment’s “mythology of reason”, which, in the author’s opinion, led to the creation of rigid rational constructs that distort natural perception. As an alternative, the concept of a neurolink is proposed, borrowed from neurography. This approach allows us to synthesize the advantages of linear and cyclic time models and offers a new tool for overcoming the existential challenges of our time.
