Pulmonary artery thromboembolism was observed in 8,5% of the deceased in Tomsk hospitals for a period of 2003-2005 years. Therapeutic pathology was complicated by thromboembolism in 60,9% of the cases. The source of it was thrombosis of inferior vena cava in 63,8% of cases and of the right heart departments in 26,3% of cases. Correct diagnosis of pulmonary artery thromboembolism was done in 39,9% of cases.
