The article is devoted to the fragmentary moments of the genesis of ideas about hermeneutics as an independent direction of scientific thought, which is of essential importance for the modern generation of domestic lawyers, whose subject field of activity is the study of the principles of interpretation of legal texts and concepts. Appealing to the analysis of the general direction of legal hermeneutics, which has gained undoubted importance for the theory and practice of legal science, the authors focus their attention on the personal contribution to the development of the doctrine of hermeneutics of a number of thinkers, whose scientific conclusions predetermine the horizons of the worldview of legal scholars of the 21st century.
