Some components of metabolic syndrome in young men of tyumen open population

The aim of the research was to study the levels and the prevalence of abdominal obesity and arterial hypertension among young men of two age groups (25-34 years and 35-44 years) in Tyumen. Using of rigidly standardized epidemiological methods was the methodological basis of the research. The study of the prevalence of metabolic syndrome components (abdominal obesity - AO and arterial hypertension - AH) among 500 men from the selective list (aged 25-34 and 35-44 years) was carried out within the cardiology screening (response was 81.0%) in Tyumen. High prevalence of such components of metabolic syndrome as AO and AH was detected in young men of Tyumen urban population. High systolic (SBP) and diastolic (DBP) blood pressure were observed. The average SBP and DBP levels were above the indicator values for the diagnosis of metabolic syndrome in the group of mean age 35-44 years. Significant increase of such components as waist circumference, SBP and DBP, prevalence of AO and AH were detected in young men of Tyumen open population with increasing age.
