Some features of the formation and development of the Russian violin concerto

The article examines the historical background for the creation of the violin concerto genre in Russia. The importance of A. Vivaldi’s violin creativity as the founder of the genre is indicated. As well as the role of the Mannheim Chapel in the creation of the sonata form, which was further developed in the works of classical and romantic composers. The article highlights the issues of formation and development of the violin concerto, due to the peculiarities of Russian life before the beginning of the 19th century. The in uence of Russian folk songs on composing is emphasized, especially in writing episodes of a singing nature. The di cult fate of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major is brie y described separately. One of the features is the appeal of Russian composers to the genre of the violin concerto at a mature creative age, which implies a high level of skill, both for the composer himself and the violinist. As a result, the use of such concerts as educational material is excluded.
