Peculiarities of the representation of the concept pandemic in the English mass media in 2020-2021

The article deals with the analysis of the specific features of the representation of the concept PANDEMIC in the modern English mass media. There is considered the conceptual metaphor as a means of the creation of figurality and expressivity in the media text. There are described the conceptual metaphors revealed on the basis of the analysis of the cooccurrence of the substantive naming the concept ad its synonyms with the concrete predicates.
