Some Approaches to Improving the Prevention of Recidivism

The article reveals approaches to combating recidivism in present-day conditions. We have analyzed the current state of recidivism in the Russian Federation, challenges in law enforcement, and proposed some measures aimed at improving the efficiency of combating recidivism. The organizational model for preventing recidivism should be based on centralization of monitoring functions for previously convicted individuals within the penal system, expansion of technical means to monitor the behavior of convicted and released individuals during their criminal record, and creation of a new resocialization service that will provide systemic post-penitentiary support.
