The article discusses the importance of rational use of land as the basis of human life. A brief legal overview of the status of agricultural lands and some changes in land legislation related to the implementation of the State Program for the effective involvement of such lands in circulation is given. The positive and negative aspects of legislative innovations and possible problems of their implementation are noted. Ways to solve them are proposed.
