The article reveals ethnic-pedagogical aspects of the buddhist teaching in Tibetan Tradition of Mahayana School of Gelugpa. The authors pay attention to the cult of a teacher and a master (tibetan: lama; tuvan: bashky) in the process of students' training and try to open new possibilities of these ethnic-pedagogical traditions enrooted in the buddhist culture. The special interest is taken to the problem of tolerance both in buddhism and modern political culture of the buddhist people in Russia.
