Some problems of studying literature at the institute of culture

The article considers the issues of teaching literature at the Institute of culture. Many problems of studying literature are caused by the change of a literary text status, its format, manner of reading due to life tempo increase, time deficit, priority of audio-visual facilities, especially for teenagers and young people, fragment character of modern audience perception. All these things should be taken into consideration in the process of teaching literature at the higher educational institution. The learners of the Institute of culture comprise two main categories: those students for whom the disciplines of the literature course are part of learning humanities and those ones being future professionals in the sphere of literary creativity. Alongside with common tasks, teaching literature presumes some variety, emphasis on different aspects of the literary process.
