Legal issues on the local regulation of labor remuneration

The author examined legal regulation of the field of labor payment on the local level. According to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, employers have to be guided by the federal labor remuneration law on the local level in some particular situations, but sometimes they have a free hand in this sphere. However, an employer's right to determine labor compensation does not guarantee an adequate regulation on a local level. One possible reason for that are gaps in legislation.
