The question of the need to rethink the concept of the provision of educational services has been repeatedly raised by scientists and practicing educators. The coronavirus pandemic, which swept the whole world, served as a kind of impetus for the development of information educational technologies. However, even those educational institutions that, long before the changes occurred, actively used educational technologies in the educational process, encountered a number of difficulties. The article attempts to summarize the features of the introduction of distance education in Russian educational institutions, in particular, in military universities.
