Certain psychological characteristics of the modern investigator’s personality

The relevance of analyzing the modern investigator's personality is justified by the rapid pace of social, technological and scientific development, which has a direct impact on any person. However, the most susceptible to the influence of progress are people of socionomic professions, which include investigators (interrogators). Since the granting of authority is one of the key psychological factors in investigative work, officers of the internal affairs agencies need to be guided by the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure in carrying out their day-to-day professional activities in investigating crimes. The article examines the intrapersonal features of an investigator, such as professional flair, impartiality, objectivity, psychological stability, communication skills and forensic thinking. Modern investigator, when carrying out his daily professional activities to investigate crimes of varying degrees of complexity, must be guided by the norms of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation. Thus, when investigating complex, particularly complex, multi-episode crimes committed by organized criminal groups, the investigator has to seek help from operational workers. Article 38 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation grants the investigator the right to give written instructions to the head of the body of inquiry, which allows speeding up the process of disclosure and investigation in any criminal case. Also, when organizing interrogations of victims and witnesses and when appointing an expert examination, the investigator is obliged to warn these persons about criminal liability for giving deliberately false testimony and for giving a deliberately false expert opinion according to Articles 306 and 307 of the Criminal Code of the Russian. Research in this area can provide a way for investigators to develop their personality and improve their professionalism.
