German scientific and technical terminology: characteristics and formation methods

In this article the author analyses the scientific and technical terminological apparatus of the modern German language. This topic is of current interest due to the constant acceleration of scientific and technological progress, along with which the language is developing and being supplemented with newer and newer terms and definitions. This process also applies to the German language, which is the most active in expanding and developing its terminological apparatus in the scientific and technical field. In this connection, the features and main ways of expanding German scientific and technical terminology at the present stage have been analysed.
