German household instruction as a special subtype of prescriptive texts

The article deals with the analysis of the most important constitutive characteristics and main features of German household instructions as a special subtype of prescriptive texts. The research allows to draw the conclusion that despite the many-sided nature of the text case, heterogeneity of structural and language features, different methods for motivation of recipients to take action, all prescriptive texts incorporate one general idea and are coherent. They belong therefore to the text system that reflects the features of German culture and performs the informative and instructive functions.
