The article discusses the main postulates of the neoliberal doctrine of education: the introduction of market relations in educational space, the reduction of funding for the education system, the privatization of the state education system. The authors draw attention to how the influence of the processes of neoliberal globalization radically transforms the education system of leading Western countries. At the global level, this leads to serious competition between national educational systems, at the national level - to new management practices based on a market and competitive mentality. The result is the formation of a dual education system reflecting the economic and social polarization of society. It is suggested that neoliberal tendencies actively penetrating the system of modern education challenge national cultural and pedagogical achievements, provoke contradictions in the educational environment and social risks.
