Independence of local self-government bodies as a basis of local self-government

Reforming the system of public finances of the Russian Federation provides for achieving real independence of local budgets, ensuring full funding of both their own powers and powers transferred to the local level in the process of decentralization, improving interbudgetary relations, increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the use of budget funds. The purpose of the article is to study the aspects of the functioning of the institution of local self-government, its independence, directions of strengthening local self-government in the Russian Federation.
