The article examines the current state of culture through the analysis of its ethical and anthological characteristics. As a dominant feature, such a feature as “the triumph of the inhuman” is revealed. Ideas, theories, projects appear in which a person loses his traditional human image and his nature radically changes. This appears: 1) in the naturalistic program of biocentrism, which heralds the end of human exceptionalism; 2) in the scientific constructions of immortalism, including digital immortality; 3) in widespread tanatopathy, in which an obsession with the media death of a modern man in the street is manifested; 4) in modern gender experiments leading to erosion and, as a result, to leveling of gender. As the reason for this “dehumanization of man”, a new phase of the existential crisis is revealed, in which a fundamental transformation of Taedium vitae took place, which led to a previously not former form of a new melancholy - the fatigue of being a man.
