The article characterizes the phenomenon of “newspeak” peculiar to the process of communication in the XX and XXI centuries. The concepts of “discourse” and “discursive construction” in the context of the social sciences are explained. The socio-philosophical level of comprehension of this phenomenon through the methodologies of constructionism, historical discourse analysis, critical studies of discourse is presented. The connection between the concepts of “ideology” and “identity” is established. The differences between the classical “newspeak” and modern communication within the framework of the new phenomenon of the XXI century - social media are shown. The levels of functioning of modern “newspeak” are revealed, and the areas of intersection between the language of the media, the authorities, and social networks are identified. A separate level of communications and a source of “newspeak” is the discourse of intellectual elites. The deconstruction of the “newspeak” concept in the logic of postmodernist philosophy can be represented as a panopticon (M. Foucault) and rhizome (J. Deleuze, F. Guattari) - categories that summarize the centralization and decentralization of the modern communication process. “Newspeak” as an ideological language constructs the identity of the subject, which in the conditions of modern communication can be represented as multiple and dichotomous at the same time.
