New aspects in the prevention of nutritional iron deficiency anemia in piglets

The article presents the results of a study of the preventive efficacy of a new multicomponent drug thionontrit-S in alimentary iron deficiency anemia in piglets. It has been established that the administration of the drug at a dose of 0.5 g/kg of body weight once a day for 21 days prevents morbidity, causing an efficiency of 96 %. Its appointment provides a high increase in hemoglobin (22.7 %) and serum iron (45.9 %), and also stabilizes the level of liver indicator enzymes, causing high preservation, development and growth of young animals.
